Do this pose with caution but go for it! I can only recommend using yoga blocks for this pose. If you must use something, choose something steady and supportive. Have patience with arm balances and ease your way into them. Don’t be afraid to fall. Be careful if you’ve had a history of wrist problems, weakness, or injuries. This could be painful for your wrists. Arm balances always come with some risk of falling or other minor pains but if you practice conscientiously and without pushing beyond your limits, you should be okay. Have fun!
