11.11.2013. Eka Pada Koundinyasana One (One-legged pose dedicated to the sage, Koundinya)

Trying new things adds spice to life. Things like trying to pronounce the name of the sage that this pose is dedicated to and trying to do the same arm balance on both sides. Trying new things also keeps you humble and lets you know there’s always room to grow. If you’re a complete beginner and have trouble getting deep into twists, I wouldn’t recommend this pose. It’s for intermediate to advanced students. For total beginners, work on building upper body strength with Chaturanga Dandasana.

For those taking the plunge into arm balances, be ready to fall! It’s all part of what makes yoga fun.

BTW, this video is the second take where I didn’t fall completely on my wrist and lay there for a few seconds recovering.
